Hudgell Solicitors is continuing its expansion by buying a number of personal injury cases from North Yorkshire firm Williamson Hill solicitors.
The acquisition follows the recent purchase of the personal injury and clinical negligence caseload of Carters Solicitors of Peterborough, a former member of the Quality Solicitors network.
A further deal with another firm of solicitors, Hudgell Solicitors’ biggest acquisition to date, is also due to complete later this month.
Hudgell Solicitors, which has three offices in Hull and one in Leeds, specialises in claims for personal injury and clinical negligence, particularly brain injury and dental negligence cases.
John Hurley, one of two partners at Williamson Hill, said the decision to sell the files had been prompted by a need to restructure the firm’s caseload due to his recent diagnosis of prostate cancer, at a time when the Government seems intent on a radical overhaul of the system for Personal Injury compensation claims.
John said: “This move makes sense at this difficult time. It enables Williamson Hill to continue to develop their private client work whilst knowing that the cases transferred to Hudgell Solicitors will be dealt with in a professional manner and clients will continue to receive a high quality service.”
Neil Hudgell, Managing Director of Hudgell Solicitors, said: “We are interested in talking to any firm which wishes to sell individual files, caseloads or the entire practice.
“In the past 2 months, we’ve bought four other legal practices outright and there are more deals in the pipeline.”
